Indian wicket-keeper batter and Chandigarh cricketer Taniya Bhatia has claimed her bag along with her cards, watches and jewellery were stolen during the Indian women’s cricket team’s stay at Marriott Hotel London Maida Vale earlier this week.
While the Indian women’s cricket team landed in India on Monday afternoon after the team’s historic 2-1 win in the three-match ODI series earlier last week, the 24-year-old tweeted about the incident at the team hotel in London on Monday.
“Shocked and disappointed at Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale management; someone walked into my personal room and stole my bag with cash, cards, watches and jewellery during my recent stay as part of Indian women’s cricket team. So unsafe,” Taniya tweeted on Monday afternoon. In another tweet, the Chandigarh cricketer stated that she was hopeful of a quick resolution of the issue. “Hoping for a quick investigation of this matter. Such lack of security at ECB’s preferred hotel partner is astounding. Hope they will take cognisance as well,” Taniya said in another tweet.
